Third day of the week. Usually this one is quite good because I can already see the end of the week itself (mehr oder weniger). Let’s see how it will go… but I can already see it being quite busy-busy-busy…

To refresh all ears, let’s listen to the wonderful voice of Cassandra Wilson.

This is the third female singer in a row and she’s the one I really don’t know anything about. I got her name while looking for some info about India Arie and found they sang together once. Then I found another singer from US, this time from Mississippi. One more time, I found a singer whose parent’s love for jazz and soul influenced the respective career. One more time I found someone with a voice that can melt your heart at the first listening.

I chose Cassandra’s live performance of the song “Harvest Moon”. Hope you’ll enjoy the same way I do:

Damn, I was so in the mood for something like this, the lyrics are beautiful (Neil Young), … but it doesn’t carry me away, it feels all a bit contrived, damn, damn, damn … Here’s a version by Neil Young, much simpler, much less sophisticated http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQXnvNwGTAY.

Come a little bit closer
Hear what I have to say
Just like children sleepin
We could dream this night away.

But theres a full moon risin
Lets go dancin in the light
We know where the musics playin
Lets go out and feel the night.

Because Im still in love with you
I want to see you dance again
Because Im still in love with you
On this harvest moon.

When we were strangers
I watched you from afar
When we were lovers
I loved you with all my heart.

But now its gettin late
And the moon is climbin high
I want to celebrate
See it shinin in your eye.

Because Im still in love with you
I want to see you dance again
Because Im still in love with you
On this harvest moon.
