Does Michael Jackson fit with this band? March 13, 2009

Posted by Domenico in Music.

Hi there, today another week is about to end. It was quite intense for I got so many things to do during the day and the night too… And now I’m happy that the weekend is about to start. Tonight there is also a surprise-birthday-party for a friend, organized by his wife and I look forward to meet some friends I haven’t met for a while. Then tomorrow we’ll see what the weekend gives us.

But we stay focus on today’s post and we will talk about a band suggested to me by a Greek fellow. The band is The Whitest Boy Alive.

This band is based in Berlin and I found strange that they includes Erlend Øye, that is one of the two members of the band “Kings of Convenience”. I found it strange simply because of the kind of music that two bands play, that is totally different one from the other. In fact, the Whitest Boy Alive play some electronic dance music that is veeery Berlinese and it’s not so bad, especially the rolling bass guitar, proper of some electro sound.

OK, let’s see which music do we listen and watch the video for the song “Golden Cage”:

Anjoy your weekend, I’ll do the same with mine.

Yeah, they are all right …

So you no longer care if there’s another day
I guess I have been there, I guess I am there now
You knew what you wanted and you fought so hard
Just to find yourself sitting in a golden cage
In a golden cage

So of course I miss you and miss you bad
But I also felt this way when I was still with you
Yes of course I miss you and miss you bad
But I also felt this way when I was still with you

This city’s no longer mine
There’s sadness written on every corner
Each lover was made to sign
Now I hear them calling me over and over

dear Pisty, this should sound strange just because the good Erlend lives in Berlin since 5 years i guess, and he once said that he really felt really influenced by german electronic ( techno? ) music.
Greetings, Dr. C
