Not from a book July 14, 2009

Still recovering from the trip… or maybe from the fact that the holyday is finished… today I have short time to post another song that caught my attention while I was in Italy. It’s the song “We are the people”, from the band Empire of the sun, an Australian band which does not take the name from the J.G. Ballard’s book.

The song itself reminds me of several stuff, from the 8o’s, from some Italian stuff I was listening a few years ago and other kind of music I can hardly locate and define.

Nevertheless, I want to share the song with you:

Not bad at all! Maybe it is the 80s sound, maybe the fact that summer is here …

We can remember swimming in December,
Heading for the city lights in 1975,
We share in each other,
Nearer than father,
The scent of a lemon drips from your eyes

We are the people that rule the world.
A force running in every boy and girl,
All rejoicing in the world,
Take me now we can try.

We lived an adventure
Love in the Summer,
Followed the sun till night
Reminiscing other times of life,
For each every other
The feeling was stronger,
The shock hit eleven Got lost in your eyes

I cant do well when I think youre gonna leave me,
But I know I try,
Are you gonna leave me now,
Cant you be believing now.

Can you remember and humanise,
It was still where wed energised,
Lie in the sand and visualise
Like its 75 again,

I know everything about you,
You know everything about me,
Know everything about us
